Helen was determined to not only help herself, but help others all over the world. She became a member of both the American Foundation for the Blind and the American Foundation for the Overseas Blind. She lectured in over 25 nations during WWII, and helped soldiers who had been blinded in the war. Helen founded the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and co founded the Helen Keller International, which help to combat the causes and effects of blindness. Helen, through her perseverance, changed the world as we know it today.
